About Project
The project was an initiative taken by GT Bharat LLP to empower coir craft artisans of the Shrikhetra coir cluster in Puri, Odisha. Through specialized design training, it aimed to boost traditional skills, increase income, and empower women. The project diversified artisans' abilities beyond decorations by introducing home utility products, and enhancing their design skills for practical domestic items.


Brief:
To design premium home décor collections with artisans of Orissa coir craft cluster for urban consumers in the middle and higher middle classes connoisseurs of handmade products to improve the local economy of the crafts and artisans.

Interior Plant Decor
A collection of decorative planters crafted from coir, inspired by traditional coir toys honoring heritage and showcasing the fusion of artistry with nature. Leveraging artisans' expertise in animal crafting, these eco-friendly planters embrace functionality, combining innovation with homage to Odisha's rich coir toy tradition

Coir Sticks
Coir sticks, inspired by coir toys, aid climbing plants' growth, doubling as support for aerial roots, enhancing plant health, and visual appeal. Unlike machine-made options, these handcrafted sticks reflect the craft cluster's essence, bridging practicality with unique aesthetics from the animal planter inspiration.
